The 2010s are when 3D animation really kicked into high-gear. The Disney Revival was happening and Dreamworks was starting to cement their place as a legitimate competitor. In the midst of this competition an unlikely question blossomed in the minds of theater goers: What if the main characters of Tangled, Brave, How to Train Your Dragon, and Rise of the Guardians were all best friends and went on adventures?
This spawned the crossover fandom Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons, and in this episode of This Podcast is a Bad Idea we’ll look at the origins and propagation of this surprisingly virulent and wholesome concept that has spawned art, fan films, and original songs.
Also in the bag of bad ideas: Murph talks about Christmas Carol adaptations, Froo introduces us to celebrities of TikTok, and we receive some digital carrier pigeons for Listener Mail.
